About i47i
Hey, I’m i47i (you can call me Scott).
R. Scott
I’m a curious observer and writer currently based in Thailand, fascinated by the evolution of human societies over time and the systems that shape them.
Born when atmospheric CO₂ was around 322 ppm ☮️, I’ve spent years wandering through Southeast Asia, Europe, and Scandinavia—always drawn to people, places, and the stories they tell.
My interests pull me across tech (especially NIX systems, Slackware, and FreeBSD), economics, history, geopolitics, and the unpredictable ways digital and physical worlds collide.
What you’ll find here
This site is my digital notebook — a space for longer-form pieces on:
- Geopolitics and global power shifts
- Technology, AI developments, and funding landscapes (e.g., xAI and beyond)
- Economic history, currency experiments, and financial inclusion around the world
- Digital culture, online dynamics, and their offline consequences
- Profiles of economists, thinkers, and unusual patterns in business and society
Expect independent takes—sometimes contrarian—rooted in primary sources rather than recycled narratives. No paywalls, minimal distractions (no ads… yet), just ideas worth exploring.
If you’re curious about why some “developing” regions leap ahead in surprising ways, how online tactics spill into real-world outcomes, the future of AI infrastructure, forgotten monetary experiments, or cross-regional comparisons (Alabama vs. Ontario, anyone?), you’ll likely find something here.
Elsewhere
Find me elsewhere:

- (More links coming as I add them)
Drop a comment, say hello, or call me out where I’m off-base—good conversation is the whole point.
Thanks for reading.
